Alpha Tauri rebranded as Visa Cash App RB for the 2024 Season

Red Bull's second team is set to rebrand as Visa Cash App RB starting from the 2024 season. The complete team name will be Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team, emphasizing Red Bull's strategy of nurturing junior drivers.

Visa Cash App RB Logo

Originally introduced as Toro Rosso (Italian for Red Bull) in 2006, the team was later renamed AlphaTauri in 2020 to showcase a partnership with the fashion brand. Over the years, drivers like four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, three-time world champion Max Verstappen, and Daniel Ricciardo gained valuable experience with this team before transitioning to the senior outfit.

This rebranding follows the retirement of their longtime team boss, Franz Tost, who has been succeeded by Laurent Mekies, a former Ferrari deputy team principal and race director. In a significant move, payment giant Visa has inked a multi-year deal with Red Bull for both teams, and the sister outfit team will prominently feature the popular money app, Cash App.

With this transformation comes the anticipation of a new team livery, to be unveiled in Las Vegas on February 8th. Expectations are high for a blue-themed livery, aligning with the color of the revealed logo, although the exact details remain a closely guarded secret. The change in leadership, coupled with the new sponsorships, marks an exciting chapter for the team as they gear up for the upcoming season.

Today’s announcement featured only the new name, title sponsors and logo with the unveiling yet to happen let's see what CEO Peter Bayer has to say about this new team.

“It’s fantastic to reveal the new identity and to welcome new partners as we embark on the next phase of the team’s F1 story,” said CEO Peter Bayer. “Faenza is entering a new era of racing, staying true to our roots as a hothouse for talent but now with an even greater focus on competing for the biggest prizes in F1.

“We have a bold vision for the team led by myself and team principal Laurent Mekies and having future-focused partners such as Visa and Cash App alongside us on that journey is hugely exciting.”

With the name pretty new to an F1 team we are excited what the team has to offer for the 2024 season and beyond.
